Last week Polly Chan, GTP's Co-founder felt blessed to have joined the 20th anniversary celebration ceremony of IMC Weekendschool (https://www.imcweekendschool.nl/english) , an innovative education charity in the Netherlands.   Starting in 1998, they have been growing into an education charity empowering ~ 2,400 children weekly at 40 locations in the Netherlands at the moment. Heleen Terjwin, Founder of IMC Weekendschool and Marion Weijman, Director of Operations & the very dedicated teams there have won the hearts of 3500+ engaging volunteers & 100+ corporate and individual donors to join forces to bring the initiatives to grass root children, children at regular schools & children of new comers of the Netherlands. They inspired us about the power of "Motivation-directed learning", "Passion" & "Unselfish giving" which have empowered 2000+ alumni on their end by now who are also eager to give back to the society. It is never easy to have gone through the challenges that they have experienced for the past 20 years while Polly felt honoured to have been part of the IMC Weekendschool family for 8 years in Hong Kong. It is so fulfilling for Polly Chan, Co-founder of GTP Talent Search to have had the opportunities to organize a number of Giving-Back workshops and 1-on-1 Career Consultations to help 30+ international university students and teens to identify their "Best-fit-jobs" with enhanced certainty & confidence.   Seeing and knowing many young people are feeling uncertain with their future study or career choices and be able to help is definitely fulfilling to us.   Through interactive workshops, every participant was able to learn about their "Nurture" through DISC profiling & "Nature" through fingerprint profiling.   They are now able to understand their own strengths, motivators and job preferences with increased certainty and confidence.  They felt the workshops were impactful & insightful because they could also learn about other participants' journeys and struggles during the workshops. It is our honour to be part of O' Venture, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST)'s 2018 new initiative to help freshmen to immerse in the HKUST community while having fun and joy like in a theme park during their orientation days from August 25 to 27. (http://fys.ust.hk/ocamps/hall-ocamp) Together with MiQ Image & Ipsum Opus, we engaged more than 150 freshmen in 3 days in fun and interactive ways.   Many of the students were impressed to get to know their "Nature"- their inborn talents within seconds by scanning their left thumbs with MiQ's world first fingerprint profiling scanner.  For the lucky stars of our Lucky Draw, they will join the "Best-Fit-Job" program offered by GTP Talent to uncover what jobs possibly fit with their "Nurture" through assessing their DISC profiling plus 1-on-1 Career Consultations with Polly Chan, our Co-founder. It was with my deep gratitude to Ellen Mok, the Fingerprint Profiling Guru who had joined hands with me to conduct our 1st "Nature (fingerprint profiling) + Nurture (DISC profiling)" workshop for my beloved mentees on August 22.  They are a group of motivated teens that I have been mentoring for 5+ years, whom are now facing challenges on understanding personal strengths, motivators & preferences and how to plan for their future.   In a short of 3 joyful hours, each of our participants was so amazed to identify / reconfirm his/her motivated choices for future study and career that tie in with their natural strengths. Our team with Stephanie, our new intern whom Polly Chan, our Co-founder has mentored since she was at Primary 5, also joined hands with us to volunteer at Food Angel, Shum Shui Po. In short of 3 hours, together with Food Angel's staff & other volunteers, we have finished packing 1,000+ meal boxes for the needy elderly and families for their dinners. Upon the warm invitation of Etta Wong, Director, Hong Kong & South China Office, Office of Strategic and Global Initiatives of University of Southern California (USC). Cavan Chan, Talent Search Consultant & Polly Chan, Co-founder of GTP Talent Search and Bei Zhou, Investor Partnerships Manager at GateCoin were honoured to panel speak for their alumni & students on July 5th 2018 for the topic of "Hong Kong  & APAC FinTech Recruitment Landscape". We also explored the Top 5 qualities FinTech employers are looking for and helped out the participants assess their natural fits with the FinTech opportunities. It was a very engaging night.  We loved the enthusiasm that the participants have shown for the many good questions being asked.    

On April 11, 2018, Polly Chan, Co-Founder of GTP Talent Search was invited to conduct a Career Workshop at CUHK for their international students.   As a HR Guru with 20+ years experience in leading in-house global/regional HR Management & external global Recruitment firm, she has created easy to follow steps about "Know Your Employer (KYE)" as a new way of assessing the right job for individual talents.  

On March 23, 2018, Polly Chan, Co-founder of GTP Talent Search was honoured to be invited to panel speak the second time at CUHK 2018 Interviewing skills workshop.  Motivated graduates and under-graduates students of CUHK were eager to improve their interviewing skills to get themselves prepared for their future job search.    

On Mar 8, 2018, we are delighted to deliver our 2018 Giving Back Career Talk at Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Together with LiWei Deng, Co-founder of Intralouge, Nik Tang, Former CTO of Valoot and Polly Chan, Co-founder of GTP Talent Search, we had created good interest among participating students on how working for startups looked like. They were also able to gain first hand knowledge from industry players on the key reasons to get hired at a FinTech/Tech startup. A number of enthusiastic students also enrolled to the pro-bono Career Coaching Services offered by seasoned Talent consultants at GTP Talent Search.
